As we increasingly rely on computers to manage and support our everyday lives—especially at a time when many are working and learning from home during a pandemic—our vulnerability to cyberattacks grows. At the same time, the power of those cyberattacks is also growing. Now, hackers can not only steal our credit card information and our view private conversations, but also potentially cause us physical harm. The Stuxnet “worm” was the first cyberweapon to reveal how just how dangerous the digital world really is, and it has the potential to usher in an alarming new era for cybersecurity.
