Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)

an interagency committee created in 1975 that reviews the national security implications of foreign investments in the United States. Chaired by the U.S. secretary of the treasury, CFIUS is composed of representatives from sixteen U.S. departments and agencies.
